Mike Hoole and Titia Blake, resident musicians in the departure lounge at Rovos Rail, have been delighting everyone with their music since they teemed up in 1997. They are on the preferred suppliers list of every major Hotel in the Western Cape.

Using a battery powered PA they are adaptable and can play in remote places such as a rocky outcrop in Bushman’s Kloof, a secluded beach along the West Coast, a yacht moored outside Clifton beach…as well as intimate venues such as the Fynbos Gardens at the 12 Apostles Hotel or the private dining room on top of the Westin Grand.

They are adept at creating the right atmosphere to suit the occasion.

Palm Strings Duo offer a full range of sound equipment which include both standard and battery powered PA systems. The enormous benefit of this being that all ceremonies have the flexibility of being conducted anywhere!

The Palm Strings Duo has become associated with weddings throughout the Western Cape. Titia and Michael have been playing together for many years & have a wealth of information to share with you.

Ambience, atmosphere, style and sophistication; Intrique’ s musical magic sparkles from vibrant jazzy to classical, local South African favourites and contemporary. Intrique offers a wide-ranging repertoire to suit the needs of your specific function.

On saxophone, Rike Coetzer adds her classy touch seasoned over years performing at venues such as the Hilton Jazz bar in Abu Dhabi, also featured in shows like “Roll over Beethoven”, “Rock me Amadeus” or “Piano Boys”, performing with bands Southern Glow, Avalanche, Mathys Roets, Scandal. Experience includes work with big bands, string quartets and vocal trios. 

On violin – Kristel Birkholtz is an accomplished solo and ensemble player. She has performed in various Barnyard Theatre productions as well as in classical concerts. She received a SAMA nomination in 2010 in the category ‘Best Instrumental DVD’ for her album “The Sea in Spring”.

The unique blend of saxophone and violin is a delightful and unique feature to ensure a special touch to any event.

Leon Gropp is a professional and award winning guitarist/singer-songwriter/stage artist. He has been in the music industry since 2005, mainly as one half of the internationally acclaimed Guitar duo, CH2.

As a solo artist, he is known for his unique cross-over fusion style of music, combining elements of Classical, Acoustic, Easy-Listening and even Spanish rhythms. His music and style of performing makes him an ideal act for corporate functions, weddings and other events.

He can also be booked with a percussionist and/or other solo instrument (violin, cello, guitar). He is a multi-award winning artist, with 3 SAMA awards (South African Music Awards), 2 Huisgenoot VONK awards, and a GHOEMA award, for his role in various musical projects.

The multiple award-winning instrumental pop group is made up of celebrated flautist Carina Bruwer who is also well-known for her record-breaking marathon swimming feats, ace violinist Luca Hart and the enchanting Ariella Caira on cello – three Classically trained virtuosos with dozens of awards, degrees and distinctions between them, who share a passion for the latest beats and pop sounds.

Gino Fabbri is an immensely likeable comedian who interacts with his audience in the guise of hilarious characters, keeping his material clean at all times. As MC, he integrates his irreverent, off-the-cuff wit into any event program, introducing his personas over the course of an evening and lifting the atmosphere by adding fun elements to liven up proceedings.

Gino is adept at holding the focus of difficult audiences using songs, jokes and attention grabbing finales to win them over!

His characters pop up sporadically during day-long trade shows, golf days, prize-givings and fun-runs. His act is geared for English, Afrikaans and non-white audiences and is riddled with amusing one-liners.

Gino also offers a show-stopping interpretation of the Evolution of Dance in which he performs an incredible 50 dance styles in 8 minutes. His Evolution of Drums medley shows off his spectacular drumming skills.

From a 45-90 minute show to the full interactive package, watch Gino play a toaster with a pair of forks, meet his hip-gyrating police officer, the French Chef who cooked the evening’s meal, his flamboyant events coordinator, his affectionate Latin Lover, his dodgy Indian wheeler-dealer and a host of other crazies. Each entertain in 10-20 minute comedy segments.

Gino’s wide range of material and character options allow him to perform repeatedly for the same client and to always appear fresh and new. He also appears alongside other Centrestage artists to offer additional dance party elements if required.
