This Johannesburg‑based electric and acoustic violinist has graced stages alongside global icons such as Kanye West, Vanessa Mae, and Bryan Adams, a testament to her versatility and star quality.

Balekane’s journey began at age nine, when she first picked up a violin and felt destiny strike. Within just four years, she earned a place in the South African National Youth Orchestra and simultaneously became leader of the Johannesburg Youth Ensemble. Her early promise led to an invitation to Germany, where she performed with the Landesjugend Orchestra over two consecutive summers. A graduate of the National School of the Arts, she now performs with leading professional ensembles including the Johannesburg Festival Orchestra and the Johannesburg Music Initiative.
