A Caucasian-looking coloured guy from Mthatha who speaks fluent Xhosa, Donovan’s upbringing in the Transkei was anything but ordinary. Trading his lucrative advertising career for the stage, he turned his one-of-a-kind life experiences into stand-up comedy gold.
A Star is Born
Donovan’s comedy journey began in September 2010 with his first-ever 4-minute, 35-second set at the Comedy Underground in Melville, Johannesburg. His performance had the audience in stitches, sparking a passion that led him to refine his craft and perform harder, better, faster, stronger.
